This album is excellent. Very commercially appealing without being bland. In the current climate of guiter driven music it sits very well. The songs have so much energy from 'Gravity' to 'Awakening' to 'Burn out Bright'. The passion behind 'Dirty Second Hands' and 'Let your Love be Strong' is also there to be heard. Switchfoot have been around a while and in my view just get better and better. And they were good at the start! The songs are well contstruction and well performed, have excellent harmonies and balance between instruments and vocals. Had opportunity to hear them live in UK and they were amazing. Your 'yet-to-be Christian friends' will love them too. If they got the air play on national UK radio they would be massive. The lack of 'an overt worhsip feel' might not please some but listening to the lyrics reveals a depth beyond your average pop song. They make some strong social statements from a clear Christian viewpoint too. They rock! Get listening and tell your friends too.
