There's a line on the original packaging of Live & In The Can about the people who came to the gigs: if you were there, it says, then you're probably live and in the can. Delirous'? first ever live album really was a family affair, with tracks recorded at a whole bunch of low-key early gigs up and down the the UK. But more than a scrapbook, the album captures something of the energy and expectation that was firing up the country back in 1996. Life doesn't get much rawer. And then comes King Of Fools. Spewing the top twenty hit 'Deeper' yet bearing their soul to a watching world, the album fast-tracked the band into the mainstream music world. Reaching number 13 in the UK album chart, King Of Fools set the course for the future by exploding the limitations that previously held 'Christian' music back.
