The 2000 Sydney Games were celebrated as the best ever staged, providing Sydney with the opportunity to showcase all it has to offer. Long after the crowds had returned home, a celebration of a different kind gathered for a recording of the latest Hillsong praise and worship album 'You Are My World'.
The atmosphere of praise, worship and intimacy with God at this live event has not been lost through the recording process - truly an album that reflects the worship of heaven.
The recording was held in the Sydney Entertainment Centre, Sydney's premier entertainment venue. However, instead of playing host to the likes of Ricky Martin and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the centre hosted the people of Hillsong Church.Many years before, Senior Pastors Brian & Bobbie Houston had dreamed of filling this venue with a crowd of worshippers. With almost 10, 000 people attending the recording, and the sight and sound of God?s people filling a major venue with His praises and His presence is an experience they will not easily forget.
Even those passing by outside couldn't ignore what was happening, as sounds of worship were beamed into the street of Sydney for all to hear. For two hours, worship leader Darlene Zschech and a team of over 300 musicians and singers, led worship in an incredible time of praise and worship.
