Welcome to the stage ‘Verra Cruz’ – a three piece rock outfit who have precisely what it takes to raise the bar in the world of rock. Want proof? Well, it seems that the secret’s already out. Verra Cruz are worthy of all the superlatives that can be rough carved, sand-blasted and hauled out in front of them. Metal Hammer magazine reckons they’re ‘young UK song-writing at it’s very best’ while Kerrang! Sees them as ‘an unexpected hit-and-run thrill.’ For Drowned In Sound they are ‘marvellous’, for RockSound the St Alban’s Vineyard trio are of ‘Pearl Jam calibre. Very nice indeed.
How come? It’s all about the blend. Songwriter, singer, guitarist Marc James starts it all off with a perfect mix of melody and metal. This is classic rock, with stone-age guitars, blue-sky melodies and an earth-shifting rhythm section. As Metal Hammer points out “The sound is deliciously mature, compelling and incredibly intense. They are ‘rock’ enough to please a metal fan and delicate enough to sell millions. With a number of high profile supporting fans at Radio One and XFM, they are sure to reach your ears soon.”
